About Jolt Ministries
Who am I? Where do I belong? What am I supposed to do?

These are questions every young adult asks at some point in their life. Seniors graduating high school experience a JOLT when they finish school since the answers to these questions were always assumed - I'm a student and have friends with whom I go to school. After graduating, everything we knew changed: friends moved away, our title as "student" morphs or changes all together, and we no longer find ourselves occupying the same spaces. So now what?

Jolt Ministries seeks to help young adults flourish through networking, mentoring, and individual coaching. Just as we are jolted out of what was once familiar, we can be jolted into a new way of living. Through our online community, young adults experience discipleship and resourcing facilitated via small group accountability and community engagement. For those seeking guidance, Jolt offers mentoring and help getting plugged into a local worshipping community. Jolt is partnering with churches in the Denton, Collin, and Dallas Counties to make this happen and is excited to promote intergenerational and inter-church relationships.

In addition to networking and mentoring, Jolt offers life coaching to help individuals uncover their potential on both a personal and professional level. For more information about these services, click here.

About Me
Thank you for taking the time to learn more about me and the work in which I am engaged. I moved to Southern California in 2006 where I became involved in a church now known as Church On the Hill. It was nestled on the side of a hill and would become a space where my family and I would experience life-giving transformation for years to come. During my Junior year of undergrad at Azusa Pacific University, I was invited to apply and work at Church On the Hill as the Student Pastor where I would remain until I moved to Texas in May 2020.

The coronavirus pandemic acted as a catalyst for my moving back to Texas where I struggled to form a new community and sense of identity and purpose. I would be finishing my Master of Divinity online while working in automotive retail, an industry in which I never thought I would find myself. With the completion of my degree in sight, I began imagining what life would look like following this time of formal study. Simultaneously, I was volunteering at First Baptist Church at the Fields in Carrollton as the young adult teacher. My heart has always been to see students and young people flourish and it had become my aim early on in my career to be one who would support and cheer on the next generation.

It was not until November 2021 that a new vision came to me. Imagine a society in which young adults moved with confidence in who they were, knew where they belonged, and were led by a strong sense of purpose! I tailored my Master's Thesis to addressing this pondering, laying the groundwork for what would become Jolt Ministries. My personal narrative informed much of this project at first and would be aided in theological study and reflection. In May 2022, I submitted my last assignment and put my nose to the grindstone to make this imaginative longing a reality.

In July 2022, I founded Jolt Ministries and have worked to build an online network for young adults, create a mentoring program, and acquire my coaching certification through the International Coaching Federation. Armed with these resources, I believe young adults can experience life-giving community and find clarity for their life just as that church in Riverside did for me nearly two decades ago.

I invite you now to take action! First, as a man of faith I recognize the power of prayer and request your prayers on behalf of myself and the work Jolt seeks to accomplish. Second, if you are a young adult, consider joining the network and consider seriously what your life could look like with with authenticity and diligence. Third, if you would not consider yourself a "young adult", I encourage you to reach out and support the young adults in your life. If you believe this would be a good resource for them, tell them!

I would enjoy discussing the work I am doing and answering any questions. Reach out below!

Education
2018-2022
Master of Divinity
Azusa Pacific Seminary
Graduating as a Vocare scholar, my time in grad school was a balance of Biblical studies, theology, and pastoral ministry. Tailored to reflect an emphasis in Christian formation, I completed the program best described as "in the trenches," offering practical preparation for ministry leaders.
2015-2018
BA Youth Ministry
Azusa Pacific University
Graduating with the Outstanding Senior Award and as a Kern scholar, I completed an undergraduate program focused on preparing ministry leaders who would be working with students, young adults, and their families. Emphasis: Discipleship & Evangelism
2013-2015
AS Social & Behavioral Studies
Moreno Valley Community College
Graduating from high school simultaneously, I attended the local community college through the Middle College High School program. Serving as the class president and completing my associates degree marked the beginning of a servant-leader mentality.
